Dr. Vail started “Clayton Family Chiropractic Clinic, Inc.”, in 1979. For the next 8 years he operated his clinic primarily as a pain clinic. His interest in nutritional practice was the first step in shifting his clinic from a “pain clinic” to a “wellness clinic”. This led him to learn additional alternative treatments beginning with auricular acupuncture, (ear acupuncture points) studying with Terry Oleson PhD., from UCLA Acupuncture Research, in 1990. He added Homeopathy, Naturopathy, and Frequency Specific Microcurrent, AcuPoint Physical Medicine, and MediCupping , and Fascia Movement Taping (RockTape -FMT 1,2) certification, as additional treatment options.
Dr. Vail has learned Functional Medicine (Functional Medicine addresses the whole person, not just an isolated set of symptoms.) methods to solve health problems, listening to their histories and looking at the interactions among genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors that influence long-term health and complex, chronic disease. We employ the latest and most advanced techniques, clinical nutritional and comprehensive test and lab work to find the cause to your problems.
We have a fully stocked nutritional store, and we are conveniently located just one block off Hwy. US 23/441 and Hwy76 downtown Clayton, Ga.
Chiropractic Spinal Adjustments Techniques : Manual ( “Hands On”) or Instruments ?
We have patients calling our office asking if we do “Hands On” adjusting of the spine or do we use “Instruments” to do the adjustments ? There are two primary treatment methods that chiropractors use to treat patients. Manual manipulation (or “Hands On”) or using “Instruments’’.“Hands On” is the traditional method of applying chiropractic spinal adjustments, and is the favored method for many practitioners, including Dr.Vail. He prefers the intuitive methods of using his experienced hands to judge the effectiveness of treatment to make adjustments. Chiropractors that prefer to use instruments, may feel that the tools are more effective, or less invasive than manual manipulation. Or they may feel like they don’t have the skills or experience to make soft adjustments, and that the instruments works better for them. Dr.Vail has learned the basic technique of the “Activator”method, for those few who request “no poping” adjustments.
