Should I take STATIN Drugs ?

STATIN drugs: Lipitor,Crestor, Zocor, Lovastatin, Pravachol, Vytorin and more, are cholesterol lower drugs. They inhibit (actually, they poison the enzyme that makes cholesterol), the action of the HMG-CoA reductase enzyme in the liver.  In a 2015 peer- reviewed journal, Okuyama et al, claim that contrary to widely held beliefs, the primary toxicity of statin drugs is on their inhibition of CoQ10 and " Heme A" biosynthesis, which are compounds required for energy generatrion (in the form of ATP) and mitochondrial maintenance and repair.  The results of this effect the body's cells, particularly of the heart, are unable to obtain the energy they need for normal cellular metabolism and repair. The results are energy-starved state is impaired muscle function, including the heart, which is a type of muscle. This explains the common side effect from statins, muscle weakness, muscle pain (myopathy, rhabdomyolysis), which can lead to damage kidneys and lead to kidney failure, which can be fatal.

STATINS inhibit the conversion of vitamin K1 into the active form of the vitamin, K2, whose main function is to prevent calcification of the various blood vessels of the body. STATIN users have increased cornary artery plaques than nonusers in clinical trails.

YES, you read that right, STATIN use increases the rate and amount of coronary artery lesions, and this outcome is in addition to the well -recognized side-effects of congestive heart failure, which is confirmed by studies showing that statin use results in a predictable increase in the level of natriuretic peptide in the brain, a recognized marker for the presence of congestive heart failure. The Okuyama study reports 130 cases of statin  cardimyopathy (leading to heart failure-often the cause of death in "heart" patients") within 4 years of commencing statin therapy in a single cardiology practice in Japan.

Cardiologists often quote STATIN studies such as : Jupiter,AFCAPS/TEXCAPS, CORONA,GISSI PREV. All of these studies were done with 100% financed by statin manufacturers. This means of course, that their results are bias, and favored in their best interest.

There is a major study, Not finaced by Statin manufacturers, were there were 4 million statin users and a 5 years study. It found NO evidence that statin use reduced cardiovascular events or risk. They also pointed out that during the five years period studied, the use of statin drugs tripled, yet the number of heart attacks and deaths from heart attacks did not change.  The study authors also pastulated that statin use increased the likelihood of developing diabetes, which is a well-accepted risk factor for development of coronary heart disease.

Statin drugs increase your diabetes risk by actually raising your blood sugar. Excess sugar is stored in the liver as cholesterol and triglycerides. Statins work by preventing your liver from making cholesterol, so your liver will return the sugar  to your bloodstream, which raises your blood sugar levels.  If you are on statins, and your doctor has diagnosed you with "type 2 diabetes", maybe even prescribed another drug, when all you may need to do is simply discontinue the statin, for your blood sugar to revert back to normal.

The FDA has placed a warning label on STATIN drugs,"MEMORY LOSS" and "LIVER Damage"and "TYPE II DIABETES" !

There are a number of natural alternatives that work well for lowering Cholesterol, without any of the side effects.
